Holika Holika Mask Review

Hi there! Today I will be talking about the Holika Holika Cherry Blossom Essence Mask Sheet. The only reason I was pulled into buying this mask was the fact that CN Blue was the spokesperson for Holika Holika and that their faces was on the mask :]

But yeah, I've used 3/10 that I own and so far I give this mask a 3/5.

The Fit
This mask is very short from forehead to chin and it's very wide (ear to ear). I like the fit of the My Beauty Diary Masks over this one. The good thing about this mask is that it covers the side my of face pretty well but it's barely long enough to cover my forehead and chin + the nose flap doesn't cover my nose well. I don't think I have a long chin or forehead either so I wonder if this fits well with people who have a longer, slimmer face.

The Scent
It smells nice, very floral but I don't like my sheet masks to be this heavily scented. I found that with all of the Holika Holika products I've tried, they seem to be very heavy scented, which might not work out with people that have sensitive skin.

Properties of the Mask
This mask is suppose to provide water and nutrition to the skin to keep it moist. As you can tell, this product is probably marketed towards teenagers. I think that it does moisturize the skin but the effects from it doesn't last too long. I'd say this is something you can use for a little pick me up but it doesn't have any of the whitening and tightening properties of some face masks (these cost 1.99 I believe, which is pretty expensive compared to MBD). I like using this before I put on make up in the beginning of a day since it makes applying bb cream much easier.

Overall, I really wanted to LOVE these masks but I don't. I think these cost more than the My Beauty Diary Masks and those are so much more effective than this one. :[ But if you are interested in the Holika Holika one, do try it out. Maybe it just didn't work out for me.

On the other hand, I was very surprised by the My Scheming Masks but I've only used it once so I still need to test it out more.

Here is a picture of how the mask looks after I washed and dried it. It's very wide, no?
Here's the front of the package.

1st Sasa Order

Hello! Today I have a review on some of the products I bought on Sasa during their Cyber Monday sale and I'm very happy with some products I've tried out so far. If you don't know, Sasa is a Hong Kong brand/store that sells a variety of makeup from across Asia, similar to Sephora. So I picked up the following items~

1) Genie in a Bottle - Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Spray (160 ml)
I picked this up because I've been wanting to try out some moisturizing mist/sprays since this girl in my class always uses it before class starts and she seems so have so smooth looking skin. This product does moisturize and refreshes the skin and it's perfect for the winter time with the drying environment. The first ingredient on the list is Sodium Hyaluronate, which is the moisturizing agent, if I'm correct. This spray doesn't have a scent to it so it's good for sensitive skin. I found that this product is more of a "pick me up" throughout the day or a small addition to your skincare routine so don't try to substitute this for a lotion.

2) My Scheming Milk Extract Brightening Mask (10 pieces in a box)
I've heard some great things about this product so I decided to buy it. I have not tried it out but the ingredient list looks ok (cucumber extract, vitamin E and milk extract). I can't wait to try this out.

3) Dr. Jart+ BB CREAM Water Fuse Blemish Base (50 ml)
I believe the one I bought is the Asia exclusive one and there's an American one that is sold at Sephora. I've heard from other people that the two formulas are a bit different so I didn't bother buying it from Sephora. For me, all of the BB creams released in America kind of sucks compare to the Asian versions. I will be reviewing this soon~

4) Dr.G TROUBLE CARE Aroma A1 Skin Lotion (150 ml)
So this product is more like a treatment which you use only on areas where you're breaking out. The first ingredient on the list is Alcohol so I was afraid that this might irritate my skin but thankfully it did not. This product is magical! I had a bumpy red acne on my chin and over night, it totally de-bumped and almost disappear. This product is definitely worth the $31 price tag. I'll keep using this on my blackheads to see if it can get rid of them too. This is such a life changing product and I will try out their whole skincare line once I finish my current skincare products and back ups. :]

5) Kose SOFTYMO Acne Washing Foam (120ml)
I haven't tried this yet since I bought it as a backup cleanser after I finish my Biore one. This product has no scent to it so hopefully it will work out alright.

6) Biotherm BIOCILS Eye Make-up Removal Care Limits Lash Loss due to Makeup Removal - Waterproof (30 ml)
I bought the Make-up Removal Gel for Sensitive Eyes but I received this one instead but that's fine. I'm not sure what the official name of this product is so I just typed up what was on the bottle. This is a two layer makeup remover so it requires some shaking. This smells like the Lancome Bifacil and I think the removal power is about the same. I don't really prefer one over the other though. This is better than many drugstore make-up removers though, but I'm not sure if I want to pay 3-4 dollars for such a small bottle of it.

Also, I received a Fruttini Body Lotion (30ml) as a free gift with purchase (I think this is only for new customers). The scent I received is in Cherry Vanilla and the smell reminds me of a cherry flavored lollipop. It's a decent body lotion and I like the fact that is a travel size so I can carry it around with me.

* I've purchase every item with my own money from Sasa.com and this is my honest opinion.

BB Cream Reviews~

Hi there! Today I have some reviews of bb creams I like to use. I'm actually still on the hunt for more bb creams to try out, I just ordered a Dr. Jart one from Sasa to try out :D

So, the bb creams I have for you today are:

Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream
Packaging: This bb cream comes with a vacuum pump but the bad part is that if there's some product left on the tip, the product transfers onto the cap which can make it look dirty. (50mL)
Scent: I want to say that this scent is slightly floral with a bit of baby powder. It's not too strong and the scent goes away after an hour or so.
Coverage: This is one of the higher coverage bb creams out there. I would say this has a medium to full coverage.
Consistency: Because this bb cream has a pretty high coverage, the formula is pretty thick so it is a bit hard to work with so be sure to moisturize well before using it.
Comments: Initially, this was one of my favorite bb cream but as I got the chance to try out more bb cream, this got push to the middle of my list just because I prefer bb creams that are a bit thinner in consistency. If you need medium coverage, this is a good bb cream to invest in.

Lioele Water Drop BB
Packaging: This is a squeeze tube packaging which I find to be not as sanitary as a vacuum pump because oxygen and other particles in the air can get inside so I do suggest you throw it after you open it for a year. (50mL)
Scent: This also has a floral scent but I find it to smell "fresher" than the beyond the solution and that I prefer this one over that.
Coverage: This bb cream has a pretty light coverage but I love using it because it has a nice cooling effect from the water molecules that form once you put it on. This is also a lot easier to blend and perfect for everyday use since it covers your blemishes slightly, giving you a more natural look.
Consistency: Since this bb cream is water based, its pretty runny and light. I love the fact that it is so light, I forget I have bb cream on sometimes when I wear this.
Comments: I think this bb cream is a great starter bb cream in general because it is so easy to blend with and it won't look like you have a thick layer of makeup on.

Lioele Triple the Solution
Packaging: This has the same packaging as the Beyond the Solution bb cream but this has SPF protection, an whitening effect and winkle care. (50mL)
Scent: I dislike this scent, probably because I dislike the scent of lavender ( I'm weird, right?). This smells like a mixture of lavender and eucalyptus oil.
Coverage: I think this bb cream has an even higher coverage than the Beyond the Solution one, which is great for special occasions.
Consistency: Very thick. I only apply this with a wet sponge applicator. I don't have smooth skin to begin with so this does emphasize the bumps on my skin so maybe using a primer underneath this will make it smoother. I'm pretty lazy so I don't like using primers.
Comments: I perfer the other two Lioele bb creams over this one probably because I prefer a lighter type of bb cream, rather than a heavy one like this but this might be the perfect bb cream if you want full coverage + don't mind the scent of lavender. I love to use this to take pictures with because of its high coverage though.

Skin 79 - The Oriental Gold BB Cream
Packaging: The pump top on this is kind of weird. It's a vacuum pump but you push the top down to get the product to come up in the center. This also comes with a lip/cheek tint on the cap of the container. (40mL)
Scent: This has a really nice tea scent to it. I'm in love with it.
Coverage: The coverage for this is probably medium, it has better coverage than the Lioele Water Drop.
Consistency: This is not too thick or too runny like water based bb creams. It blends pretty nicely too.
Comments: This is my go to bb cream this winter because it is so moisturizing and light plus, I think the color matches me pretty well in the winter time. This bb cream feels a bit sticky to me after application so I always set it with a powder afterwards.

Skin 79 - Super + Belesh Balm (pink label)
Packaging: It's a vacuum pump where you press the top down to get the product out of the nozzle. I kind of wish that they had a cap for the nozzle cause I like to keep it on my table top so I don't want bugs flying/crawling around it. (40mL)
Scent: It has a really light scent which I'm not sure what it is. It could be the scent from the almond oil in the formula.
Coverage: Light to medium. I think this bb cream has the best color adapting abilities cause it can match me in the winter and summer perfectly.
Consistency: I would say that this is a bit thinner than the Skin 79 Oriental Gold but its not as thin as the Lioele Water Drop.
Comments: I like to use this bb cream in warmer weather because it very light weight and it has really good oil absorbing abilities.

Holika Holika Petit BB (Clearing)
Packaging: The packaging for the petite bb cream line is so adorable.~ It is a squeeze tube though. (30mL)
Scent: I found the scent of this bb cream to be really strong. It smells kind of like the Covergirl Nature Luxe foundation, that artificial cucumber scent. I think it smells very sweet and kind of floral too. I wouldn't recommend this for people with sensitive skin.
Coverage: This has high coverage and I think it is comparable to the coverage found in Lioele Triple the Solution.
Consistency: Because this is a high coverage cream, it is pretty thick. I need to add a bit of my moisturizer to it in order to make is a bit easier to blend.
Comments: I found that this is a weird bb cream. It swatches pretty dark on my hand but once I put it on my face, it changes like 1-2 shades. I found that this made my skin look a bit too pale compare to the rest of my body/neck. Also, I'm not sure it does anything to help with my breakouts, I think it actually aggravates my skin a bit because of the strong smell.

Here are some swatches to show how different the bb creams look next to each other. I'm sorry for the poor quality since my camera is pretty old. :[
